As American dubstep goes, the age of simplicity has been dangling with a noose around its neck for the past few years. As it took its last few gasps of heavily polluted air, overproduction and the producers it has fostered pointed and laughed. It is with great pleasure that I share with you some American talent who understands these lost concepts we so greatly cherish deep below. In an epic fusion of old and new, Miniweapon has been spawned.
Miniweapon is the musical creation of Massachusetts native Jake Hall. This young talent has been proficiently working to push his original sounds out of the West Newbury (aka West Nugs) area over the past 3 years. What started as a small remix project has evolved into a proper demonstration of what it means to be an original producer in this day of age.
“Mishaad” is without a doubt my favorite track of his to date. Lead chords are contrasted perfectly with a masterfully crafted bass synth. Throw on your phones, this kid has got it going on. He hit his soundcloud with a free download, so snag it and check out the rest of his tracks.
